For Christians, faith is the confidence that what we hope for will actually happen; it gives us assurance about things we cannot see. Hence, it's really like climbing the staircase, you just don't know what is up there...yet we trust and believe because we know our Heavenly Father watches over each of us.

Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. Hebrews 11:1
